Job Description – Senior Project Manager (Water, Oil & Gas & Infrastructure)

Role Overview
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of projects across the Water, Oil & Gas, New Energy and Infrastructure domains. The role involves managing scope, cost, profit, schedule, quality, safety, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful project completion in line with contractual and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Lead end-to-end execution of EPC / EPCM / BOOT projects from initiation to commissioning and handover.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
Ensure adherence to project scope, timelines, and cost targets.
Contract & and Commercial Management
Manage project contracts, change orders, claims, variations, and billing.
Monitor project cash flow, invoicing, and cost control.
Coordinate with finance and commercial teams for revenue recognition and collections.
Conduct frequent change order, variation and delay analysis.
Report project performance, status and scope variation.
Expedite client invoicing and collection to the greatest extent possible.
Engineering & and Design Coordination
Coordinate with engineering teams for to ensure timely delivery of designs, drawings, and approvals.
Ensure alignment between design, procurement, and construction activities.
Review Prepare and review technical submissions, method statements, and execution plans.
Procurement & and Vendor Management
Oversee procurement of equipment, materials, and services.
Manage vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Participate in vendor evaluations and contract finalization.
Construction and & Site Management
Supervise site execution activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Monitor progress, resolve site issues, and manage risks and delays.
Ensure implementation of HSE policies and safe work practices.
Stakeholder & and Client Management
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and statutory authorities.
Conduct regular project review meetings and client coordination.
Ensure customer satisfaction and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk Management & and Reporting
Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
Prepare MIS reports, dashboards, and progress updates for senior management.
Ensure documentation, lessons learned, and project close-out activities.
Key Skills & and Competencies
Strong project management skills in EPC / infrastructure environments.
In-depth understanding of Water water & and Wastewater wastewater treatment, Oil oil & Gas gas facilities, thermal power plants, pipelines, and/ or infrastructure projects.
Knowledge Intimate and expert knowledge of project controls, scheduling tools (Primavera / and MS Project).
Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
Sound understanding of HSE, quality standards, and statutory requirements.
Qualifications & and Experience
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering disciplines.
Experience: 1
1 0–15 years of relevant project management experience in Water, Oil & Gas, or Infrastructure sectors.
Site experience of more than three years in total.
Completed at least one full-cycle EPC project of > INR 50 Cr as Project Manager.
Worked with Indian government clients.
