Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end quality for our data-driven platforms. In this hybrid role, you will balance high-level automation strategy with hands-on manual exploratory testing. You will be responsible for defining how we test, from UI interactions to complex API data contracts, ensuring our \"Business-first\" engineering remains fast and reliable. 

Key Responsibilities  

• Automation Leadership: Design and implement scalable automation frameworks from scratch for UI testing using Playwright or Selenium (JavaScript/Java).
• API Quality: Develop robust API automation suites using Playwright or RestAssured to validate data integrity and system integrations.
• Manual Expertise: Perform high-level manual testing, including exploratory, edge-case, and \"persona-based\" testing for complex data products.
• Integration & DevOps: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps) to enable continuous quality.
• Test Strategy: Create comprehensive test plans and strategies that cover functional, regression, and integration testing for high-stakes enterprise projects.
• Collaboration: Partner with Data Engineers and Architects to ensure quality is \"shifted left\" and built into the development lifecycle.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and code reviews for automation scripts to maintain high standards of code quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications  

• 5 to 10 years of professional experience in Software Testing.
• Expert-level Automation: Proven experience building frameworks using Playwright (JS/TS) or Selenium (Java/JS) .
• API Testing: Deep hands-on experience with API automation tools like RestAssured or Playwright .
• Manual Testing Proficiency: Strong ability to analyze requirements and identify critical manual test scenarios that automation might miss.
• Technical Stack: Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript or Java; experience with SQL for data validation is highly preferred.
• Agile Mindset: Comfortable working in fast-paced, sprint-based environments where requirements can evolve.
• Communication: Strong ability to articulate technical risks and quality metrics to both engineering teams and business stakeholders.
