Role Title : Senior Quality Engineer I

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Quality Engineer to join our Enterprise Quality Engineering team focused on Defect Management.

The Senior Quality Engineer II will lead and manage defect lifecycle processes across multiple domains to ensure product quality and timely resolution of issues. This role requires strong analytical skills, expertise in defect management tools, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality improvements. The ideal candidate will act as a subject matter expert for defect governance, reporting, and continuous process optimization.


Job Responsibilities:

Quality Leadership:

  • Senior Quality engineer on Enterprise Quality Engineering Defect Management team, validate defects in Jira with complete details (component, impacted domain, replication steps, severity, priority) and ensure defect quality standards are met
  • Lead offshore and onshore defect triage meetings with domain leads, development teams, vendors etc that include a combination of offshore and on-shore resources. Assign defects, update statuses, and ensure proper linkage for traceability.
  • Track resolution timelines and monitor SLA compliance for critical defects. Escalate delays and facilitate technical triage sessions for complex issues.
  • Ensure Defect Retesting & Closure: Confirm defect retest, closure, update of RCA fields updated. Track defects when issues persist post-resolution.
  • Maintain defect dashboards and publish daily/weekly reports. Track KPIs such as defect aging, resolution turnaround time, and rejection rates.
  • Mentor QE team members on defect management processes. Drive adoption of standardized workflows and compliance with enterprise quality standards.


Delivering Technology:

  • Performs complex quantitative and qualitative analyses for delivering Quality Engineering defect management solutions
  • Validates solutions with internal customers and stakeholders
  • Facilitates achievement of expected deliverables per plan


Managing Projects and Policies:

  • Assists in the defect management process
  • Participates in the identification and monitoring of risks and issues
  • Serve as a key member of the Enterprise Quality Engineering Leadership team


Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • Experience: 4+ years in Quality Engineering with at least 3 years in defect management. Hands-on experience with Jira and Power BI and defect lifecycle management.
  • Experience in software development, test engineering, with expert-level expertise in multiple testing methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Undergraduate degree in an engineering or computer science discipline and/or equivalent experience/certification
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and quality metrics.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


Preferred:

  • Demonstrated success leading medium- to large-scale initiatives/transformations.
  • Proven knowledge of Agile methodology (preferably SAFe Agile).
  • Experience with mixed and offshore delivery models.
  • Good process management, negotiating, influencing, and problem resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Knowledge of business environment, service requirements, and hospitality culture.
  • Ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, and influence appropriate courses of action.
  • Ability to communicate technology lifecycles and strategies.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools like Power BI for defect trend analysis.


Education and Certifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification.
