Immediate opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to play a highly visible role driving product quality, process capability, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing operation. This position partners cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership to reduce defects, improve reliability, and strengthen ISO-compliant quality systems.

This is a hands-on role for a quality professional who enjoys data-driven problem solving, customer interaction, and leading improvement initiatives that directly impact cost, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Position Overview

The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and implementing quality improvements using statistical and analytical methods. This role supports customer quality resolution, leads corrective actions, contributes to change management, and strengthens standardized quality processes across the organization.

Select Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Quality Metrics

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize quality data to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Support development and reporting of product-related quality metrics for leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
  • Serve as a key contributor in responding to customer complaints and initiating corrective actions.
  • Prepare, gather, and submit PPAP documentation to meet customer requirements.
  • Support internal and external customer quality resolution processes.
  • Plan and recommend projects to reduce manufacturing costs, improve process capability, and enhance product quality and reliability.
  • Perform root cause analysis, risk assessments, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Apply manufacturing quality tools to improve departmental and plant-level processes.

Change Management & Compliance

  • Support and continuously improve change management processes.
  • Review and approve engineering change notices (ECNs) as required.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and applicable industry regulations.
  • Create and maintain audit standards; participate in internal and external audits.

Validation, Audits & Training

  • Participate in process validation and qualification activities.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and tests to assess product quality.
  • Train and support employees on quality processes, systems, and best practices.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of Quality Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with ISO compliance, audit preparation, and document control
  • Proficiency with SPC, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt or Equivalent Certification
  • Experience reviewing and approving ECNs and supporting change management
  • Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present clear, concise findings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Longtime client: $150million division of fortune 500 manufacturer. Ideally seeking experienced quality engineer (6+ years). Products are specifically rubber oriented but they don't have to come from the industry. 600K square foot manufacturing center with 400 employees. Union environment (doesn't have to come from Union). Reports to the Quality Manager. Seeking hands-on quality professional with CAPA and ideally scrap reduction knowledge!
