Role Overview and Responsibilities:

Dhruva Space is seeking a highly skilled Senior RF Design Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in RF front-end design to join our dynamic team. As a leading satellite technology company, we are committed to developing high-performance RF solutions for satellite communication systems. The Senior RF Design Engineer will design, simulate, and validate active and passive RF circuits across wide frequency bands, supporting mission-critical satellite payloads and ground systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of RF solutions.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and develop RF front-end architectures across low frequency, microwave, and mmWave bands.
  • Design, simulate, and optimize active RF circuits, including LNAs, power amplifiers, drivers, and RF switches.
  • Design passive RF components such as filters (LPF, HPF, BPF, BSF), couplers, power dividers, and matching networks.
  • Perform RF filter design using lumped, distributed, microstrip, stripline, and waveguide techniques.
  • Carry out circuit-level simulations using Keysight ADS, including schematic capture, layout, harmonic balance, and EM co-simulation.
  • Perform 3D electromagnetic simulations using CST for RF structures, packaging, and interconnect effects.
  • Optimize key RF performance parameters including gain, noise figure, P1dB, IP3, efficiency, bandwidth, and return loss.
  • Support PCB-level RF layout, material selection, stack-up definition, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Conduct RF measurements and validation using VNA, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and related instruments.
  • Perform satellite link budget analysis, including EIRP, G/T, C/N, C/N0, and margin calculations.
  • Support system-level RF performance analysis and collaborate with antenna and payload teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation, design reports, and support design reviews (PDR/CDR).


Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, RF/Microwave Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–8 years of relevant industry experience in RF and microwave design.
  • Strong fundamentals in RF, microwave engineering, and electromagnetic theory.
  • Proven experience in RF front-end design across multiple frequency bands.
  • Hands-on experience designing LNAs, PAs, filters, and matching networks.
  • Proficiency with Keysight ADS for RF circuit design and simulation.
  • Solid understanding of satellite communication systems and link budget analysis.
  • Experience with RF PCB design, materials, and fabrication constraints.
  • Preferred: Experience with satellite payloads, ground terminals, or user equipment.
  • Knowledge of RF system architecture and transceiver design.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC, regulatory standards (FCC, ETSI, ITU).
  • Experience with MATLAB or Python for RF analysis and automation.
