As a Senior RM Technician, Color, you will partner with/report into the Manager, Raw Material, Color, to oversee the color approval process for products and services though evaluating physical (where needed) and virtual (where data is available) submissions to determine color acceptability, communicate results to suppliers, evaluate overall supplier performance, and help to provide technical support for internal teams, vendors, & mills in an effort to achieve elevated color matching. 

This position will manage the workflow across all brands provided to the Digital Color Technician, Digital Color Reviewer, and Analog Color Reviewer, globally, in an effort to maintain performance and streamline efficiencies; calling out mixed media, and other complex technical feedback from either the vendor mill end or aesthetic direction from design.

This position will work closely with outside teams as well as the Director, Raw Material - Color to communicate as needed to designers and product managers for review of complex color execution opportunities.

Additionally, this position will provide administrative support outside teams that rely on color data and technical feedback.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Color Team Workflow:Organize and distribute received physical and digital submissions to the team
    Call out to the team as needed any elevated technical concerns that would impact evaluations
    Organize label coordinating mixed media submits
    Direct overall workflow to ensure efficiencies
  • Communication Responsibility:
    Maintain up to date communication to all brands teams that require color feedback
    Maintain up to date communication for elevated/complex feedback to mills/vendors
    Review and pass data as needed to Director, Raw Material - Color for local brand support on complex items
    Partner with, as needed, all brand specific programs (SMS meetings, etc.)
  • Special Projects
    Support Director, Raw Material - Color as needed
    Ongoing review for practical application of current processes and procedures for requested updates
    Ongoing mill/vendor logging for analog and digital color practices
  • JOB REQUIREMENTS


  • Years of Related Professional Experience: 3+ years relevant experience at a medium or large-sized company, preferably in apparel.

  • Educational/Position Requirements:
  • BA/BS degree in Textiles, Apparel Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Color Science, color evaluation, and/or textile dyeing and finishing experience or training strongly preferred.

  • International business experience desired, involving tracking and organizing information, and communicating effectively with overseas partners.
  • Skills:

  • Excellent color perception required (color vision). Testing required for qualification.

  • Proficient PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PLM/PDM).

  • Good judgement and analytical skills with aptitude for systematic work.

  • Detail oriented with strong follow through.

  • Sense of urgency managing time and accomplishing tasks.

  • Excellent oral and written communication.

  • Strong interactive skills (team player) working with multiple functions at all levels and across multiple business partners.
