Within this critical area, the "Customer Journey Solutions" team is central to shaping its future. We make a significant contribution to the target architecture by driving a common platform, fostering growth initiatives, and optimizing processes. Our key initiatives include the operation and development of the dbCORE low-code platform for process design, creating online product sales and self-service offerings for all channels, building a dedicated product sales and service shop for easy integration, and delivering PB-wide Ident & Sign solutions.
  • As a Senior Requirements Engineer, you play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between client needs and the technical delivery teams. You will be deeply involved across all stages of the software delivery lifecycle—from initial scoping and planning, through detailed requirement analysis, to close collaboration with engineering teams for delivering working software. This role demands an enthusiastic and pragmatic self‑starter with strong analytical capabilities, functional domain knowledge, and the drive to create cost‑efficient, high‑quality solutions.
  • You will work directly within agile (Scrum) teams and collaborate extensively with Product Owners, Architects, and Software Engineers to define clear, implementable, and strategically aligned requirements. The role also requires strong expertise in user story creation, functional concepts, and specifications documentation, ensuring seamless delivery in scaled‑agile environments.

  • Your key responsibilities

  • Bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams to ensure successful, high‑quality outcomes.
  • Engage throughout the software delivery lifecycle—from early scoping and planning to detailed requirement analysis and acceptance validation.
  • Conduct requirements elicitation through workshops, interviews, analysis of existing systems, and collaboration with business and engineering teams.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, and conceptual designs for agile teams.
  • Work closely with Scrum teams, directly interacting with engineers to clarify requirements and ensure feasibility.
  • Support Product Owners with backlog refinement, prioritization inputs, and dependency identification; prior PO experience is considered a strong plus.
  • Produce high‑quality documentation including feature concepts, functional specifications, user stories, and process flows.
  • Apply domain knowledge across Retail Banking IT—especially Frontends & Channels, cloud‑based architectures, data‑driven APIs, online product sales, self‑service journeys, and Ident & Sign solutions.
  • Collaborate in scaled‑agile environments and ensure alignment across squads.
  • Continuously coach junior Requirements Engineers and contribute to capability uplift across the team.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of emerging technologies and evolving web ecosystems to ensure forward‑looking designs.
  • Your skills and experience

  • Experience & Functional Expertise Broad hands‑on experience in requirements engineering for large‑scale IT solutions.Strong practical exposure to agile delivery, working directly with engineering teams in Scrum setups.Demonstrated experience in creating high‑quality user stories, concepts, and specifications.Prior Product Owner experience within agile teams is required; experience in scaled‑agile frameworks is a plus.Strong domain understanding of Retail Banking IT, including:Frontends & ChannelsData‑driven APIsOnline product sales & self‑service journeysProduct sales & service shop modelsIdent & Sign solutions
  • Technical & Tooling Skills Experience working in cloud‑enabled environments and modern architecture patterns.Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to quickly understand complex systems.Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, UML/BPMN modeling, and other agile documentation standards.Ability to convert high‑level business intent into detailed functional deliverables.
  • Soft Skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong independence, ownership, and initiative.Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional agile delivery teams.Passion for continuous learning and staying current with evolving digital ecosystems.
  • Language Skills Fluent in spoken and written English.German at B1 level or higher is a strong plus.
