The Role and the Team
As a Senior Sales Engineer in the Data Security Group (DSG) you will be a trusted advisor and technical lead for the Pre‑Sales process, contributing to solutions delivery and customer satisfaction.
Your day‑to‑day
- Drive high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with ATG Sales Specialists & Account Teams to develop and execute account penetration strategies.
- Build trust and rapport with customers and prospects, serving as their main technical point of contact.
- Lead technical discovery, planning, execution, and wrap‑up of Proof‑of‑Concepts and Production Evaluations.
- Design and champion complex People‑Centric Security solutions covering the full Data Loss Prevention suite, Insider Risk, and Data Security Posture Management.
- Assist professional services deployments, technical training, and industry seminars or trade shows.
- Collaborate with Professional Services, Support, Engineering, Product Management to ensure effective operation and technical wins.
- Provide customer insight to Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
- Deliver training presentations to peers, account managers, and teams within Proofpoint.
- Contribute across internal documentation, training, and communication channels.
- Help develop solutions and processes across the team and sales engineering organization.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of proven track record selling solutions as a Sales Engineer.
- Good understanding of the Cybersecurity market, competition, and particularly Data Security and Insider Risk.
- Expertise in core security solutions: Enterprise DLP, CASB, Insider Threat Management, Endpoint Security, Isolation, DSPM.
- Strong knowledge of sales processes and the role of a sales engineer.
- Excellent technical presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to articulate the big picture, uncover business challenges, and architect solutions.
- Thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
- Works independently, adapts quickly, and maintains positivity.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- CISSP or similar industry certification preferred.
- Travel required.
