Role Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Senior SAP ABAP Developer with around 9 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development, enhancements, and customizations across RICEF objects. The role involves end-to-end delivery — from requirement analysis to development, testing, and deployment — in both Agile and Waterfall environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms).
  • Develop classical/interactive reports, ALV, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, BDC and dialog programming.
  • Work on Enhancements including User Exits, Customer Exits, BAdIs, Enhancement Spots.
  • Build and optimize Function Modules, BAPIs, RFCs and custom transactions.
  • Debug and resolve complex issues in standard SAP processes across SD/MM/FI functional areas.
  • Perform performance tuning using tools such as ST05, SAT, SLIN, SCI.
  • Develop and support OData services and basic ABAP on HANA optimized code (ATC checks, SQL performance).
  • Collaborate with functional consultants for requirement analysis, solutioning, and technical feasibility.
  • Prepare technical specifications, perform unit testing, and support integration testing.
  • Handle code reviews, transports, and adhere to development best practices.
  • Participate in AIF/IDoc-based interfaces and monitor related jobs (as applicable).

    • Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Core ABAP: RICEF, ALV, BAPI, BDC, SmartForms/Adobe Forms.
  • Hands-on OO-ABAP including global/local classes.
  • Experience with Enhancement Framework (user exits, customer exits, BAdIs, implicit/explicit enhancements).
  • Good exposure to ABAP on HANA concepts (ATC checks, SQL optimization).
  • Experience in OData (basic CRUD operations, service creation).
  • Strong debugging and performance tuning abilities.
  • Experience working in SD, MM (and optionally FI) related custom developments.
  • Familiarity with data archiving concepts (SARA) is a plus.
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum and using tools like JIRA.

    • Good to Have:

  • Exposure to SAP Basis interactions (job monitoring, transports) without being a Basis specialist.
  • Experience in WebDynpro (basic understanding).
  • Knowledge of AIF interfaces / IDocs.
  • Experience collaborating with offshore teams.
  • Understanding of end-to-end project lifecycle and documentation.

    • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Computer Science (or similar).
  • SAP Certification

    • Experience:

  • 9 years of SAP ABAP development experience with strong RICEF and enhancement background.
