Senior Scientist‑SNSPDs role at Xanadu

This role is within the Low Temperature Devices Team, focusing on advancing Superconducting Nanowire Single Photon Detectors (SNSPDs). You will lead the design, assembly, and evaluation of SNSPDs for large‑scale detector arrays.

Base pay range

CA$140,000 /yr – CA$190,000 /yr (additional equity and benefits)

Your role and responsibilities

As a member of the Low Temperature Devices Team, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Challenge the state‑of‑the‑art in key SNSPD performance metrics relevant to Xanadu’s architecture
  • Operate cryogenic systems (e.g., He‑4 evaporator‑based, dilution refrigerators) including cooldowns, troubleshooting, and maintenance
  • Collaborate with internal and external process integration engineers, packaging engineers and technicians, including founding partners
