About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Security Specialist to lead aviation security and emergency management activities across ADG airports. Reporting to the Head of Security and Emergency Management, this role ensures compliance with aviation security legislation, strengthens emergency preparedness, and supports safe and continuous airport operations.
This position is classified as a Safety Sensitive Aviation Activity (SSAA).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain aviation security programs, plans, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with aviation security legislation and Department of Home Affairs requirements.
- Lead a risk-based approach to aviation security and business continuity.
- Maintain and test security and emergency contingency plans.
- Coordinate emergency exercises, incident response, and investigations.
- Manage security service providers, contracts, and KPIs.
- Build strong working relationships with airlines, law enforcement, and government agencies.
- Support delivery of security, safety, and emergency training programs.
- Apply ADG cyber security policies and risk management frameworks.
About You
You are an experienced security professional with a strong understanding of airport operations and regulatory environments. You are confident managing complex issues, engaging stakeholders, and leading responses to security and emergency events.
Essential Criteria
- Experience in security, law enforcement, defence, or a related field.
- Knowledge of airport and airline operations.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Experience in contract and financial management.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex risks.
- NT Driver’s Licence (or ability to obtain).
- Eligibility to obtain an ASIC and pass an AFP check.
Desirable
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
- Experience managing people and service contracts.
- Confident public presentation skills.
