Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Snowflake Architect to design, build, and operate our Snowflake data platform. This role blends hands-on architecture with platform administration, ensuring Snowflake is secure, scalable, performant, and cost-efficient.

This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role with technical ownership and matrix leadership responsibilities, partnering closely with data engineering, analytics, and cloud teams to enable reliable, high-impact data solutions.

What You’ll Do

Architecture & Engineering

  • Design and implement scalable Snowflake architectures supporting data warehouse, data lake, and data sharing use cases.

  • Lead Snowflake solution design, including:

  • Dimensional and analytical data models

    Batch and near real-time ELT/ETL pipelines

    Data integration and Snowflake Data Sharing

    End-to-end data layers (Bronze / Silver / Gold), semantic views, and analytics-ready datasets

    Advanced Snowflake capabilities including Cortex AI and data agents

  • Define and implement governance features such as Snowflake Horizon, masking, and encryption.

  • Collaborate with data engineers, analytics teams, and product partners to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

  • Evaluate new Snowflake features and recommend adoption to improve performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.

  • Enable advanced analytics use cases in Snowflake, including predictive modeling and anomaly detection using Cortex AI.

  • Platform Administration & Operations

  • Own day-to-day administration of Snowflake environments across development, test, and production.

  • Manage Snowflake configuration including warehouses, databases, schemas, users, roles, and resource monitors.

  • Monitor and optimize platform performance, availability, and cost usage.

  • Implement and maintain Snowflake security controls, including:

  • Role-based access control (RBAC)

    Masking and row access policies

    Governance and monitoring features

  • Troubleshoot and resolve Snowflake performance, pipeline, and access issues.

  • Design and implement data sharing, replication, disaster recovery/failover, and backup strategies.

  • Maintain platform documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.

  • Ensure adherence to enterprise privacy, security, and data governance standards.

  • Provide guidance and technical oversight to distributed or offshore Snowflake administration resources.

  • What You’ll Bring

  • 8–10+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or data platform roles

  • 4–5+ years of hands-on Snowflake experience spanning architecture and administration

  • Strong expertise in:

  • Snowflake architecture, performance tuning, and cost optimization

    Data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling

    Advanced SQL; Python experience preferred

  • Experience designing and operating ELT/ETL pipelines

  • Working knowledge of Snowflake security and governance features

  • Scripting and automation experience (e.g., Bash, Terraform, or similar tools)

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure

  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Snowflake SnowPro Core certification preferred

    We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.

    Base Salary Range

    $139,000.00 - $186,000.00

The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
