    Product Description:

    At Hapag-Lloyd, the CargoMate application provides a port call optimization system for container ships. It monitors cargo operations directly from vessels, giving shore-based teams access to live forecasts of cargo completion times. This helps to keep vessels on schedule while reduce fuel consumption and emissions in ports. The solution includes mobile and web frontends, a backend and integration with other software solutions.

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with expertise in Spring Boot, Kotlin and Java to join our CargoMate Product development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance applications.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Spring Boot , Kotlin , and Java .
  • Conduct architecture, code reviews and follow best practices in software development.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with frontend applications.
  • Ensure high performance, security, and scalability of applications.
  • Collaborate with teams to define, design, and deploy new features.
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing systems.

    • Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Java for backend development.
  • Understanding and hands-on experience with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases).
  • Experience with ORM frameworks like Hibernate or JPA.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Basic understanding of cloud services

    • Nice to Have Skills :

  • Familiarity with AWS cloud platform.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies and working in Scrum teams.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, React Native).
