Senior Software Engineer - Backend

About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build, and deliver scalable web applications and distributed systems that power our core products. You’ll play a key role in defining architecture, improving performance, and ensuring delivery excellence while collaborating closely with product and global engineering teams. This is a senior individual contributor role with strong technical ownership and influence across multiple initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

Core Engineering

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance web applications with a full stack and DevSecOps mindset.
• Define and implement technical roadmaps aligned with product strategy.
• Enhance existing systems for reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Lead projects and own technical deliverables, ensuring milestones are met with quality and speed.
• Contribute to CI/CD improvements, code quality standards, and automation initiatives.
• Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring, alerting, and documentation.

Leadership & Business Acumen

• Take ownership of problem areas and deliver impactful technical solutions.
• Collaborate with Product Management to convert business needs into engineering outcomes.
• Conduct code and design reviews to uphold engineering best practices.
• Apply a product mindset—balancing technical innovation with measurable business value.

Collaboration & Mentorship

• Partner with global teams to develop, scale, and maintain core product capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers through design discussions, reviews, and best practices.
• Contribute to documentation, technical standards, and knowledge-sharing efforts.
• Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture.

Qualifications

• 8–11 years of professional software engineering experience in product-based organizations.
• 4+ years of experience designing and developing scalable web applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Strong command of modern programming languages and design principles.
• Expertise in high-level and low-level design, distributed systems, and cloud architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (CloudFront, EKS, ECS, Elastic Cache, Athena, etc.).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
