A prominent Federal Government agency is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a high-performing data and intelligence applications team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across mission-critical platforms that support national-level insights, risk analysis, and data-driven decision-making. The successful Senior Software Engineer will be offered a contract through to June 2026 with 2x 12-month extensions and flexible hybrid arrangements with work based in Canberra, ACT.

The successful Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Develop and enhance complex software applications using modern JavaScript technologies
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support across a multidisciplinary delivery team
• Design, review and implement high-quality software solutions aligned to enterprise standards
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and enable automated testing and secure deployment practices

To be successful, the Senior Software Engineer will demonstrate:

• Proven experience delivering high-quality software using modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React/Node/TypeScript)
• Experience working in cloud environments (AWS ideal) and strong understanding of DevOps practices
• Ability to work in Agile delivery teams, lead code reviews, and mentor engineering peers
