I’m partnering with a market‑leading TravelTech company that’s been around for decades, but has recently evolved into a fast‑scaling B2B and B2C platform, selling millions of tickets to travellers across Europe each year.

They’re now expanding their engineering team with hiring: Senior Backend Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails) – contributing to engineering direction, leading major technical initiatives, and supporting the wider team of engineers. This is a fantastic chance to join a remote‑first engineering culture where collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning are valued. You’ll work closely with product managers, fellow engineers, and business leaders, with the opportunity to make a real impact on a platform used by millions.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and deliver high‑quality software solutions
  • Drive and oversee technical initiatives across teams and systems
  • Shape architectural decisions to ensure scalability and performance
  • Mentor and influence engineers, helping raise the bar on engineering practices
  • Solve complex technical challenges around data aggregation, routing, and optimisation
  • Collaborate with product, business, and engineering leaders to align on technical strategy
  • Share knowledge, continuously learn, and take part in monthly hack days

What we’re looking for

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Ruby & Ruby on Rails
  • 8+ years Ruby on Rails engineering experience
  • Proven track record of building scalable, maintainable software
  • Strong backend experience, guiding architecture & scalable systems
  • English fluency & based in Europe with good timezone overlap to CET

Must have

  • Hotwire experience
  • Ruby on Rails
  • Mobile‑first experience
