About The CDMX Team

Our brand‑new Mexico City team is working closely with our U.S. engineering counterparts to build powerful, API‑driven interfaces that enable cutting‑edge AI‑native initiatives. This team is all about building from the ground up (0→1 product development), driving innovation with autonomy, and cultivating a culture of self‑sufficiency and technical excellence.

What You'll Do

  • Become one of the founding engineers in CircleCI Mexico!
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable solutions to seamlessly integrate CircleCI with AI agents and tools.
  • Refactor and modernize the API ecosystem to support high‑volume, low‑latency interactions at scale.
  • Use, document and advocate for the use of AI tools like Cursor or Windsurfi for streamlined testing workflows and result analysis.
  • Develop new features, simplify existing services, and automate repetitive processes to accelerate platform evolution.
  • Write clean, maintainable, high‑performance code with robust test coverage.
  • Operate, debug, and optimize production microservices within a complex, distributed environment.
  • Champion observability and monitoring best practices, leveraging operational data to drive reliability improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align technical work with strategic goals.
  • Participate in design reviews, uphold engineering standards, and mentor peers to foster a culture of excellence.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years as a full‑time professional developer with experience building reliable, zero‑downtime, observable distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in Java or Go is a must – experience building production backend services in Java or Go. You must also be excited to become a Go expert with us .
  • Experience contributing to 0‑to‑1 product features or services in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with modern backend architectures including microservices, event‑driven systems, and API design (REST, gRPC, or GraphQL).
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Kubernetes, and monitoring/observability tooling.
  • Ability to write code that's easily readable, testable, maintainable, and documented, with an eye toward baking observability from the beginning.
  • The utmost care in regards to how your code runs in production.
  • Superb learning skills and think critically about both system design and software engineering concepts and blend those perspectives pragmatically based on project needs.
  • Ability to quickly adapt when priorities change and make conscious tradeoffs with incomplete information.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools, build systems, test automation, and deployment strategies.
  • Experience working with LLMs or AI‑powered engineering tools, including prompt design and ethical considerations.
