Senior Software Engineer
Join Dabble as a Senior Software Engineer. Dabble operates a licensed sportsbook under the NTRWC since 2021 and offers a socialized betting experience.
Our offices are located across Darwin, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, and Albury. While we support remote‑friendly work, cross‑office collaborations are encouraged.
Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer you will play a hands‑on role in planning, developing, and delivering complex projects in sports wagering and social media. You will act as a senior technical contributor and mentor, collaborating closely with product managers and designers to build high‑quality front‑end and back‑end systems.
Key responsibilities include planning, developing and maintaining both front‑end and back‑end codebases; leading conversations on development processes and architecture; prioritising non‑functional requirements; staying current with cutting‑edge approaches and sharing knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Help plan, develop, and maintain both the front‑end and back‑end codebases
- Build maintainable, performant, and fit‑for‑purpose software in a timely manner
- Lead conversations regarding software development processes, agile rituals like stand‑ups and retros, and platform architecture
- Prioritise non‑functional requirements including security, performance, scalability, and reliability in every solution
- Stay current with cutting edge software approaches and proactively share that knowledge with the wider development team
- Keep technical knowledge up to date by exploring new development tools and programming techniques
Skills & Qualifications
- At least 6 years of experience in a similar software engineering role
- Proven commercial experience working with Node.js
- Strong hands‑on experience with React, React Native, and relevant front‑end technologies
- Practical experience working with AWS or other major cloud providers
- Demonstrated background in developing for both mobile and web platforms
- A track record of mentoring other developers and leading technical projects
- Ability to own projects end‑to‑end with a strong understanding of software design principles
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a remote‑first team
Remuneration
The advertised salary for this position is $150,000 – $170,000 plus super and benefits.
