About The Role We are looking for a Platform Engineer to own and evolve our backend platform, with a strong focus on production readiness, scalability, and reliability. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining backend APIs that power our AI-driven product across web, iOS, and Android clients. You will operate at the intersection of backend engineering, cloud infrastructure, and AI-enabled systems, helping take the platform from early development to robust staging and production environments. This is an ideal opportunity for an engineer who enjoys building foundations, improving system reliability, and collaborating closely with frontend and AI engineers. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain backend APIs using Node.js and TypeScript to support web and mobile applications Architect and improve backend systems for staging and production readiness, focusing on scalability, security, observability, and fault tolerance Collaborate closely with frontend engineers (Web, iOS, Android) to define API contracts and ensure efficient data flows Integrate and manage AI-driven workflows using OpenAI APIs in partnership with AI engineering efforts Design and maintain data models and access patterns using Amazon DynamoDB Deploy, manage, and monitor services running on Amazon ECS and EC2 Implement authentication and authorization flows using Amazon Cognito Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and environment separation (development, staging, production) Improve logging, monitoring, and alerting to support production operations Work with AI engineers to ensure backend systems effectively support prompt execution, evaluation, and iteration Build and maintain testing infrastructure, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, to ensure the reliability and accuracy of a financially focused application Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to backend and platform best practices Qualifications Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in daily conversations with an international team Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript in production environments Proven experience designing and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs for web and mobile applications Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly: DynamoDB ECS EC2 Cognito Experience deploying and operating backend systems in staging and production environments Solid understanding of system design, scalability, and reliability Experience integrating third-party APIs, particularly AI or ML services Nice to Have Experience supporting AI-powered applications or LLM-based systems Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK Experience with observability tools such as CloudWatch or Datadog Experience working in early-stage or fast-moving startup environments Compensation Salary range: USD 6,000 – 8,000 / month J-18808-Ljbffr
