Senior Solar Power Manager

Description

We are seeking a Senior Solar Power Manager to lead our solar energy projects in India. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management within the renewable energy sector, particularly in solar power. This role will require strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to successfully deliver solar projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development, and implementation of solar power projects from conception to completion.
• Total responsibility for complete Solar EPC & O&M division including Tendering, Authority approvals, Solar design, Engineering, Execution, Testing, Commissioning, Synchronization, Handover, Manpower selection, and Asset performance in compliance with Oman Electricity Law, Oman Distribution Code, Nama, AER & Civil Defence.
• Identity rooftop, utility - scale & hybrid solar projects; prepare PQ, RFQ, REP, EPC tenders; BOQ detailed cost estimation; vendor comparison; L1 & L2 submissions; contract negotiations; EPC closure with clients, developers, and government authorities.
• Solar PV design Authority : Complete authority for On-Grid, Off-Grid & Hybrid system design including load calculation, DC / AC ration, string & inverter sizing, module layout, tilt & Azimuth optimization, shadow analysis, cable sizing, protection coordination, earthing, lighting protection using AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope.
• Mandatory compliance with Nama, Oman distribution code, Oman Grid code, AER(APSR), Civil defence & Ambulance authority (CDAA), Municipality & Utility approvals for grid connection, net metering, and power export.
• Oversee project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and optimize solar energy systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for potential solar installations.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations related to solar energy.
• Manage relationships with stakeholders including clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive innovation in solar technology and project delivery methods.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• 10 - 18 years total experience with minimum 8 years Solar EPC (GCC preferred).
• Minimum 3-5 years handling, Oman Solar Projects & Authority approvals.
• Gulf Experience is must.
• Valid Oman driving licensee is must.
• Must be registered with Onam Society of Engineers (OSE).
• IR test, IV curve tracing, Thermal scanning, Synchronization procedures.
• Strong understanding of solar energy technologies and systems.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards in India.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
