As a Senior Solution Architect, you will join the Digital Delivery Department in our global IT & Digital Enablement (IT&DE) function. You will be part of a skilled team of other Architects and Application Managers, ensuring that applications support business processes while meeting high standards of performance, availability, and compliance. In this role, you will contribute to large-scale projects by translating functional and non-functional requirements into IT business solution designs, applying financial constraints, and ensuring compliance with VELUX architecture and security principles.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Accountability for the High-Level (architecture) design and design documentation with support from Infrastructure and Development teams:​Solution architecture, conceptual data modelling and data flows, application and service maps, network, and hostingApply Security, Data Privacy & Performance requirement mapping to solution design and backup and recovery model
  • Defining technical architectural solutions by designing and defining building blocks (new or existing) necessary for the solution. This can be a combination of COTS solutions and custom build applications
  • Justification of “Build vs Buy” recommendations of new solution components and manage technology selection processes for solutions in alignment with Domain Architects and Application Architects where applicable
  • System integration design in accordance with VELUX Integration strategy, principles and guardrails
  • Supporting IT Application Owners on Service introduction (Go-Live) and doing impact assessment of bigger change requests before design and execution phases
  • Offering essential support to Project Managers and IT Application owners in solution planning activities

    • Our requirements

  • Solid experience within solution architecture
  • A technical educational background and at least 5 years of experience in an IT architectural position
  • Practical experience of splitting architectural design into business, application, data and technology layer
  • Solid business understanding and the ability to learn new technologies and respond to changing business requirements
  • Great analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues
  • Advanced interpersonal, collaborative and communicative skills making you capable of working with cross-functional teams and explain complex technical details clearly and understandably
  • Experience with EA frameworks (e.g TOGAF) and EA tools (e.g. LeanIX) a plus
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
