Position Summary:
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) will support multiple functions within the India Global Capability Center of Albertsons Companies, a U.S.-based grocery retailer. This role enables leaders and teams by delivering core HR programs, supporting employee lifecycle processes, managing employee relations, and helping drive a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
The HRBP will work closely with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs), business leaders, and U.S. HR counterparts to ensure consistent, compliant, and high-quality people experiences across the GCC.
Role Responsibilities:
The HR Business Partner (GCC) will be responsible for:
Business Partnership & Support
- Partner with managers and team leads to support day-to-day people topics, workforce planning, and team effectiveness.
- Provide guidance on HR policies, performance management, career development, and team engagement.
- Support the deployment of HR initiatives aligned to business goals and GCC priorities.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Act as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, escalating complex cases appropriately.
- Ensure consistent and legally compliant handling of grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace investigations.
- Maintain strong knowledge of India labor laws, statutory requirements, and internal policies.
Talent & Performance Management
- Support talent processes such as performance evaluations, goal setting, talent reviews, and development planning.
- Assist in identifying skill gaps and coordinating learning opportunities in partnership with the L&D team.
- Support the onboarding and integration of new colleagues into the GCC.
Culture, Engagement & DEI
- Help execute employee engagement programs, communication initiatives, and culture-building activities.
- Partner with managers to build an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
- Support DEI programs tailored to the GCCs culture and business needs.
HR Operations & Workforce Support
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, and Compensation teams to ensure smooth execution of the employee lifecycle.
- Provide input on job leveling, compensation discussions, and workforce movements.
- Maintain accurate employee data and support HR reporting, dashboards, and compliance requirements.
HR Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Use HR metrics (attrition, engagement, hiring trends, performance outcomes) to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Support implementation of process improvements across HR programs, operations, and employee experience initiatives.
Skills & Qualifications:
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
- 5 years of HR experience, with at least 23 years in an HRBP, HR Generalist, or equivalent business-facing HR role.
- Experience in global/matrixed organizations, preferably within capability centers, technology, retail, or shared services.
- Good understanding of India labor law, statutory compliance, and HR operations.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work across time zones and collaborate with U.S. counterparts.
- Experience supporting U.S.-based companies or global teams.
- GCC/GBS experience strongly preferred.
- HR certifications (SHRM, HRCI, etc.) are a plus.
