Job Description:
- Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
- Experience with backups, restores and recovery models
- Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
- Should be able to support Azure PAAS databases like Azure SQL, Managed instance, Postgre SQL, Oracle cloud.
- Migration of SQL data from MS SQL server to Azure SQL using Data migration tool
- Should be able to troubleshoot database connection issues regarding Server firewall, proxy and other networking issues
- Experience in Scripting using sql cmd and Power Shell
- Automation of sql server activities and alerts configuration.
- Good experience in always on (Fail over) and cluster failover.
- Good understanding of azure networking
- Configure and maintaining of SQL DB pools
- Check for software updates (Patches)/vulnerabilities reported by Security team and apply Patches as necessary
- Backup and restore
- Monitoring SQL server resources with help of perfmon, task manager and DMVs
- Performance tuning and resolving system performance issues
- Code Deployments
- DB refresh /Disk Cloning activites
- SQL jobs Scheduling
