Position Title: Senior Staff Engineer Cloud

What you will be doing

Database Product Engineering, Platform Administration and Support:

• Create and configure Database instances
• Onboard New Database products
• Create and configure Database Azure platform.
• Implement security measures and governance policies.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation scripts using tools like PowerShell, azure cli, ARM templates.
• Manage Database pipelines for Database deployments using platforms such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Co-ordinate with application teams to ensure the infrastructure is with the latest maintenance level.
• Perform upgrades and patching
• Ingest monitoring metrics to Grafana dashboard
• Install certs, upgrade certs via key vault

Main responsibilities

What we are searching for:

• Azure and Google Cloud Database Platform (Multi Cloud experience is a plus)
• SQL Server Management:Expertise in deploying and managing Azure SQL Server, SQL Managed Instance
• Database Engineering of Azureand Google Cloud Databases
• Setting up and managing the SQL Server Azure VMs
• DB Engineering experience in managing AzureCosmos DB, RedisPostgreSQL and MySQL
• DB SaaS products such as MongoDB ATLAS, Elastic Cloud and DataStax Astra
• Azure & Google Cloud SQL (MSSQL, MySQL and PGSQL)
• Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Ability to monitor database performance and optimize queries and indexes across different database types
• Security Management: Implementing and managing security measures to protect data across various databases
• Backup and Recovery: Setting up and managing backup and recovery processes for all database types
• Database Migration and refresher
• Expertise in Database High Availability and Disaster Recovery
• Expertise in Database Network Management (private end point, private links etc.)
• Ability to analyze and onboard new Database products by setting up the standards and documentation
• Documentation of Database standards and playbooks
• Expertise in Database Access Management
• Automation: Experience in automating Database deployments and management
• Skills: GitHub Actions, YML scripting, shell scripts, python, Terraform, ARM templates, Ansible, ServiceNow integration with GitHubWorkflow, Azure CLI, Google Cloud CLI.
• Azure certifications (az-900 + DP300 / az-104 / etc.)

We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:

• 4+ relevant years of experience in cloud database engineering and administration.
• Strong understanding of Cloud Platforms and Databases
• Experience using ci/cd tools like ansible, GitHub, GitHub actions.
• Experience in multi-cloud database environment is a big plus.
• Able to support high priority production issues and bring it closure and provide RCA & fix
• Mentored senior and junior Database Engineers on database provisioning principles, query optimization, and cloud-native data architecture, fostering technical excellence and ownership across the team.
• Managed end-to-end delivery of database solutions while collaborating closely with DevOps, Platform Engineering team, and report to the Director of Database Productsto ensure alignment with strategic goals, infrastructure standards, and business priorities.

• Skilled at understanding business challenges and translating them into solutions that create measurable impact.
• Prior collaboration experience with business teams to ensure effective integration with business applications.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently while seeking direction when necessary.
