Job Scope:
Responsible for executing customs compliance activities for India operations, ensuring adherence to local and global trade regulations. Support the establishment of export control framework and compliance with U.S. re-export regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Indian customs regulations for all import transactions, including valuation, classification, and documentation accuracy.
- Coordinate with customs brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate import declarations.
- Assist in developing and implementing trade compliance processes, including screening and classification of goods and technology.
- Support the setup of export control framework and address U.S. re-export control requirements.
- Assist with the implementation of export control procedures in India, including basic screening and recordkeeping, in line with company policy and U.S. re-export regulations.
- Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory reporting.
- Collaborate with global trade compliance teams to align processes and standards.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of Indian trade regulations (DGFT, STPI).
- Basic understanding of export control requirements in India, including awareness of applicable DGFT notifications and company policy.
- Understanding of Japanese FEFTA and U.S. EAR regulations.
- Proficiency in English (business level) with excellent communication skills.
- Experience with SAP GTS or similar compliance tools preferred
Work Experience: - Overall 8+ years of experience and minimum 3 years in customs compliance or trade compliance roles.
- Familiarity with semiconductors or technology industry is an advantage
