We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join our structures team. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex projects, provide technical leadership and support the development of our junior engineers. You will play a key role in shaping creative solutions, driving best practice, and ensuring compliance while fostering a collaborative culture that values creativity and agility.

Position

Work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality projects to our clients

Detailed design and assessment of greenfield and brownfield projects including:

• bridge structures (rail, pedestrian and motorway bridges) and associated motorway infrastructure such as retaining walls and sign gantries
• material handling infrastructure including conveyor galleries, transfer towers, storage sheds and other structures supporting processing plant
• wharfs, jetties and mooring dolphins
• Conduct detailed structural integrity studies and condition assessments
• Conduct structural failure and reliability analyses
• Produce tender and contract documentation for the execution of project works
• Compile technical reports covering engineering studies

Requirements

Tertiary Qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering (Bachelor’s degree minimum; Master’s desirable.)

Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia (or eligibility to obtain)

5+ years’ experience in the detailed design of bridge/heavy civil structures; with

Proven expertise in bridge design, verification, and structural assessments, with exposure to rail, marine, or heavy industrial sectors

Experience in non-linear and dynamic FEA

Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams,

Highly developed report writing skills

Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and compliance requirements and their application to designs and load ratings

Ability to work with autonomy

Experience in automation using Python (or VBA) is desirable

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience integrating into multidisciplinary project teams.

Highly developed mathematical competency and the ability to complete engineering calculations and project deliverables

Passion for contributing to the community through development and execution of public infrastructure projects
