GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) is an ASX listed company specialising in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants. GRES has a proven track record of delivering projects in over 20 countries for a vast range of precious, bulk and industrial commodities with over 800 employees across Australia.
We are currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with a background in mineral processing to work in a multi-disciplined project team in our Ascot office. We will also consider experienced engineering candidates looking to step into a senior role.

Key Responsibilities of the role:- Work in a multi-disciplined project team to deliver cost-effective structural engineering designs from concept stage through to detailed design, tender and construction
- Perform static and dynamic analysis and design of steel, platework and concrete structures
- Assisting designers in the development of project models and drawings
- Completing detailed engineering documentation and calculations.
- Technical review of vendor documentation
- Potential opportunities to lead or mentor junior engineers
- Develop conceptual designs for studies and complete material take-offs
- Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.
- Ensure designs are fit for purpose and consider all aspects, including, cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability.
- Supporting site construction activities remotely.
- Ad-hoc travel to site for the purposes of engineering inspection, issue resolution or familiarisation.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering, recognised by the Institute of Engineers Australia.
- Minimum of 6 years technical and practical experience in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants including detailed understanding of multi-discipline design delivery.
- Experience in mineral processing and materials handling, including assets such as conveyors, crushers, screens, mills, tanks and hydrometallurgical plant equipment
- Proficiency with Space Gass and Strand7 (or with a willingness to adapt from similar software)
- Knowledge of current engineering design, standards and practice
- High level of communication, planning and organisation skills
- Experience in or willingness to adapt to a schedule-driven EPC delivery environment
