JD for Sr. Manager – (SCM)
Qualifications: BE Mech/DME
Working experience: 10+ years in the manufacturing field of the automotive & Aerospace industries.
Salary: 1.20 - 1.40 Lakh/month CTC.
Role: The Sr. Manager – Customer Supply Management is responsible for managing customer demand, forecasts, delivery commitments, and supply alignment, acting as the single point of ownership for customer-facing supply performance. The role ensures clear commitments, on-time delivery, proactive communication, and effective coordination with internal cross-functional teams to meet customer expectations consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Work extensively on customer portals and ERP systems for demand visibility, order management, and delivery commitments.
- Receive, review, and validate customer forecasts, schedules, and demand signals.
- Translate customer demand into clear internal requirements in coordination with Production Planning, Raw Material Procurement, and SCM teams.
- Analyse demand volatility and proactively highlight risks to delivery commitments.
- Own customer delivery commitments and ensure alignment with internal capacity and readiness.
- Track order status end-to-end and ensure adherence to committed delivery dates.
- Drive recovery plans, prioritisation, and buffer strategies to avoid customer escalations.
- Attend regular customer calls, supply reviews, and escalation meetings.
- Prepare and present structured reports covering OTIF performance, overdues, recovery plans, and future readiness.
- Work closely with Production Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and NPD teams to ensure smooth execution of customer demand.
- Support new program launches, PPAPs, and ramp-ups from a delivery and commitment perspective.
- Identify delivery risks related to capacity constraints, demand changes, or internal bottlenecks.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions to avoid repeat delivery issues.
- Implement structured weekly and monthly demand supply review mechanisms.
- Maintain accurate customer demand, delivery commitments, and supply status in ERP systems.
- Ensure compliance with QMS requirements, AS9100 standards, and customer-specific delivery requirements.
- Manage and support engineering change implementation from a customer supply and delivery standpoint.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills
- Excellent planning, coordination, and follow-up discipline
- Good understanding of manufacturing flows and delivery drivers
- Ability to manage pressure, escalations, and changing priorities
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and customer portals
