Job Summary

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the planning, designing, acquisition, maintenance, and implementation of applications, infrastructure, system integration, and solutions utilizing vendor relationships and internal IT and business partners with guidance and direction only on the most complex situations. This position is recognized as an expert within the organization and is responsible for solving complex problems within the area(s) they work and support. This position assists the research, design, validation, and implementation of systems, components, and technologies and provides recommendations for strategies, roadmaps and solutions. This person ensures the solutions employed across the organization support the needs of evolving business by effectively understanding the changing technology. This individual also provides oversight and assistance across project design and delivery, ongoing administration including monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring availability and reliability across multiple providers and services.

Essential Job Functions

  • Relationships - Maintains all vendor relationships and partners to support strategy and architectural design efforts for systems and technology that they support. Engages and collaborates with key vendors, carriers, and internal/external partners to support technical planning of mid- to long-term initiatives. This may include planning, build requirements, project management, SOW/BOM legal review, service & maintenance contract review, asset management, training, systems monitoring, programming & tuning. Demonstrates outstanding Verbal and Written Communication skills when working with internal and external partners.

  • Documentation - Creates, reviews, and maintains documentation of deployments, systems, and procedures relating to job/team responsibilities. Produces documentation as requested for internal customers, audits and compliance purposes. Participates in the approval process. Reports and presents quarterly capacity analyses of licensing, equipment, and utilization.

  • Reports to: Lead or above

    Working Conditions/ Physical Requirements: Must maintain currency of technical skills in relevant technologies. May be required to lift up to 80 pounds for installation of equipment (depending on focus of job); 24/7 On-call coverage; may be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends and possibly holidays; May be required to travel domestically 15-20% annually. May be required to go under desks & floor tiles, use ladders/electric lifts move ceiling tiles.

    Work Timings:  11am to 8pm IST or 1pm to 10pm IST / Flexible to work in shifts as needed

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Five years or more Engineering work experience in area of specialization.

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Intermediate/Proficiency in 2 or more programming languages / frameworks / products with hands on development experience in projects.

  • Linux administration.

  • AWS exposure

  • Must have worked in projects adopting Iterative/Agile/Water fall methodologies and must be proficient with its practices.

  • Ability to work with multi location/Global teams.

  • Technology certifications from Vendors
