Our client, a leader in biotechnology and diagnostics, is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer based out of Pleasanton, CA. If you are interested to discuss further, please review the details below.
Duration: Long term contract (Possibility of further extension)
Pay Rate: $80/hr on W2 DOE
Seeking a hands-on Senior Systems Engineer to drive end-to-end integration of next-generation diagnostic systems, spanning sequencing workflows, instrumentation, and data/bioinformatics pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead system-level integration across sample prep, library prep, sequencing/PCR, and data pipelines
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting of sequencing and molecular workflows
- Partner with assay, software, hardware, and bioinformatics teams on end-to-end performance
- Define system requirements, architecture, and integration plans
- Apply DoE and statistical analysis (JMP, ANOVA, regression)
- Plan and execute verification & validation (V&V) testing
- Support post-launch investigations and continuous improvement
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Systems, Bioengineering, or Biomedical Engineering (or related)
- Senior-level industry experience:
- PhD + 5 yrs | MS + 10 yrs | BS + 10 yrs
- Hands-on experience with sequencing workflows (NA extraction, library prep, sequencing)
- Strong troubleshooting experience in sequencing and PCR-based workflows
- Required experience with statistical tools / DoE
Preferred
- Bioinformatics or sequencing data pipelines (QC, variant calling)
- Life sciences instrumentation / IVD product development
- Digital PCR, microfluidics, or semiconductor-based sensing
- Python or R scripting
