Your Role And Responsibilities
We are looking for Senior Technical Writer for Supervisor & Team Lead role at ABB Oy.

In this role you will have the opportunity to utilize your skills in writing product manuals. Later, after gaining sufficient knowledge, you will be supervising the work of other technical writers. In addition, it is possible to combine a team lead role with the supervisor role. We offer you a challenging and rewarding job in the user documentation team.

The Work Model For The Role Is
This role is contributing to the High Power division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki.

You Will Be Mainly Accountable For

• Creating and maintaining user manuals in a content management system. The readers are engineers and technicians, typically in the field of electrical engineering and automation
• Working with illustrators and creating technical illustrations
• Gathering input and source data from subject matter experts
• Building product knowledge, covering both hardware and software aspects
• Supervisor role: Planning and supervising the work of other technical writers, ensuring quality and consistency (ideally more than 50% of your time)
• Team lead role: Managing resource and budget management across the team, and monitoring team objectives to ensure overall performance (approximately 20% of your time)

Qualifications For The Role

• Excellent writing skills in English (CEFR B2 or higher) are essential
• Strong skills in technical documentation, teamwork, and collaboration are essential
• Proven ability and eagerness to plan and supervise the work of other technical writers within your responsibility area
• Ability to lead the team in professional matters, ensuring objectives, schedules and work quality are met
• Knowledge of modern user documentation techniques, interfaces, and platforms is a plus
• Experience in information architecture and visual documentation is an advantage
• Passion for engineering and technology, with the ability to see the big picture and identify what information is most relevant to the user
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field
• Comfortable communicating in English; Finnish skills are considered a plus
