About the Role
As a Tekla Detailer, you’ll work closely with our Precast Manager, who oversees all precast operations, to develop and strengthen our in-house Tekla capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to build expertise, help establish efficient workflows, and contribute to our goal of winning and delivering more Tekla-based precast work.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed Tekla models and drawings aligned with project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to develop robust structural solutions.
- Stay updated on Tekla software advancements and industry best practices.
- Support application development efforts on the Tekla platform to boost productivity and precision and work with our Head of IT.
- Prepare detailed 3D models of reinforced concrete and precast structures including rebar modelling using Tekla software in a timely manner and within a given budget.
- Generate and edit detailed drawings of reinforced concrete and precast structures using Tekla software in a timely manner and within a given budget.
- Prepare structural drawings like plans, elevations, sections and details including reinforcement detailing and preparation of bar bending schedules.
- Prepare precast erection drawings, production drawings, hardware drawings and material lists.
- Review and analyse the project documents identifying drawing and specification conflicts, insufficient information, and missing dimensions.
- Coordinate and communicate with team members.
- Working as part of a project team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines while providing quality control/ quality assurance to ensure these deliverables are on-time and of a high quality.
- Planning and organize work priorities to ensure drawings meet the project deadlines.
- Reviews and check precast shop drawings, piece tickets, and fabrication materials for compliance to production and drawing standards.
- Review and check precast erection plans and elevation drawings, checking all dimensions against contract documents and standards.
- Ensure adequate information is correctly interpreted and included on drawings.
- Conformance of shop drawings with contract documents and quantity takeoff.
- Consistency of drawing presentation with production methods and standards.
- Improve efficiency and closely monitor performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience.
Required Skills
Proven experience with Tekla Structures, specifically precast concrete expertise, is mandatory.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring a team of technicians.
- Strong grasp of structural engineering principles and construction methodologies.
- Extensive knowledge and working experience with Tekla Structures software.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines confidently.
- Ability to satisfactorily read, understands, and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Strong attention to detail with proficient level of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Flexible attitude, in an environment with frequently changing deadlines can be relied on to meet deadlines.
