Senior US Bookkeeper

Working Hours: 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST (Monday to Friday)



About the Role

Safebooks Global is seeking an experienced US Bookkeeper to join our accounting outsourcing team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in US bookkeeping operations, a solid understanding of US GAAP, and exposure to complex transactions and reporting tools.



Key Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end US bookkeeping including A/R, A/P, journal entries

  • Handle bank and credit card reconciliations

  • Process payroll and ensure payroll compliance

  • Manage balance sheet postings, including Equity SWAPS and SAFE agreements

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal controls

  • Generate and reconcile reports from Stripe and Square

  • Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities




Requirements

Qualifications & Experience


Education:
CA / CA Inter / Master’s degree with relevant experience


Experience:

  • 3+ years in US bookkeeping or accounting

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP-based accounting

  • Experience in inventory management and gross margin tracking

  • Hands-on exposure to complex balance sheet transactions

  • Familiarity with Stripe, Square, and payroll platforms



Skills Required

  • Advanced Excel and accounting software knowledge

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Quick learner with the ability to follow procedures and update records accurately Preferred Candidate Profile: Experience working with Australian clients or knowledge of Australian taxation is a plus Previous experience in a virtual assistant or customer support role Available for immediate joining
