Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and creative Head of Video Editor to lead our video editing team for a fast-paced news channel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all video post-production activities, ensuring high-quality visual storytelling, timely delivery of news content, and adherence to editorial standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the video editing team, including editors and assistants
  • Oversee end-to-end video post-production for news bulletins, special stories, promos, and digital content
  • Ensure timely editing and delivery of news packages under tight deadlines
  • Maintain consistency in visual style, graphics, and branding across all content
  • Collaborate closely with News Producers, Reporters, Camerapersons, and Graphics teams
  • Review and approve final video outputs before broadcast or digital publishing
  • Manage editing workflows, schedules, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with editorial policies, broadcast standards, and legal guidelines
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance technical and creative skills
  • Stay updated with the latest editing techniques, tools, and industry trends

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in video editing within a news/media organization
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Expertise in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
  • Good understanding of news storytelling, pacing, and visual narration
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Knowledge of broadcast standards and digital publishing requirements
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a television news channel or digital news platform
  • Knowledge of motion graphics and basic animation
  • Familiarity with newsroom workflows and live broadcast environments
