NTT Data Greece team is looking for a Server Manager in Athens to work with our clients in the European public sector. As a Server Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all lines of support for complex incidents, requests, events and/or problems through the effective management and leadership of a team of operations Engineers.

Your Role:

Responsibilities are wide ranging including acting as team leader, managing and coordinatingService Improvement initiatives, change management and providing guidance to the team as appropriate. Provide administration, technical support for the Unix Server environment, including 3rd party and applications, e.g.:

  • Day-to-day infrastructure operations. 
  • Infrastructure monitoring, availability testing and reporting. 
  • Implements standard changes and service requests. 
  • Documentation management. 
  • On-call service 
  • Manage goals and objectives, ensuring mentoring and assistance in meeting as appropriate 
  • Participate in and manage technical project work 
  • Own, identify, diagnose and manage issues to resolution 
  • Proactively managing and coordinating service improvement initiatives 
  • DR / BCP testing 
  • Monitoring and reporting of the server environment and SLAs 
  • Installation planning and co-ordination 
  • Activity report management 
  • Incident/Request/Problem follow-up 
  • Ensure proactive evolution & optimization of service delivery organization, methods and tools

    Your profile: 

  • 8+ years of experience in a Unix/Linux mid to big size infrastructure 
  • University degree or equivalent level through experience and professional training 
  • Comfortable with most aspects of administration of systems (LVM, process management, resources, file manipulation…). 
  • Extensive understanding of most of the technical aspects and concepts. 
  • Ability to write automation solutions in some language (e.g. Python, Ansible, Bash, Perl). 
  • Extensive knowledge of protocols: HTTP, DNS, NTP, SMTP. 
  • Extensive knowledge network OSI model. 
  • Tools: GIT/GitLab, Jenkins, RedHat Satellite, Kickstart. 
  • Nagios/Icinga2 knowledge or any other similar monitoring tool. 
  • Any cluster-based knowledge. 
  • VMware knowledge. 
  • Any automated configuration management tool like CFEngine, Ansible. 
  • You are fluent in English (B2 Level minimum).
