Position Summary
Due to an increase in workload and project demands, we are looking to a Service Technician to complement our highly skilled Workshop team. This is a permanent position based in our Jandakot Workshop with plenty of opportunities to go offshore on as-required-basis.
We are seeking an Australian-qualified Electrician with a strong mechanical and hydraulics background to join our shopfloor-based operations, with the option to participate in offshore work on a project or campaign basis.
This is a hands-on role that is approximately 70% mechanical and hydraulic work and 30% electrical, involving installation, fault-finding, preventative maintenance, and breakdown support across a range of equipment and systems. The position suits a practical, safety-focused tradesperson who is comfortable working across disciplines and enjoys varied shopfloor-based tasks.
You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and operations teams to ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard, compliant with Australian standards, and prepared for deployment to offshore environments when required.
Duties And Responsibilities
Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environmentPromote a strong HSE culture at all timesAssembly and Testing of Electronic equipmentServicing of subsea tooling and subsea assetsAssembly and testing of Engineered toolingReading and comprehending hydraulic and electrical schematicsReading and comprehending engineering drawings, specifications, and proceduresOperation of general hand, hydraulic and air toolsFault finding work in Mechanical/Hydraulic/Electronic toolingCompletion of testing and servicing paperwork to a high standardData entry into Project management and Asset management softwareCompleting quality checks on tools to ensure proper assembly, design and functionality are being maintainedTravelling off site for tool testing as requested by customersTravelling to offshore locations to perform workPossibility to travel Internationally to assist operations as required.Qualifications
Relevant Trade Qualification in Electrical3-5 years’ experience in a similar role Current COVID-19 Vaccinations required for Offshore workMust be able to pass OGUK medicalCurrent BOSIET, CA-EBS trainingOffshore experience in Oil and Gas, ROV, ROV Tooling, Subsea assetsBOSIET or FOETForklift LicenseKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics (Optional)
Proficient computer skills (e.g. Word and Excel)Knowledge of safety standards (e.g. Step Back 5x5, JSEA, HSEQ systems etc.)A keen learner with good approach to learning Good mechanical aptitude and understanding, ability to solve practical problems Ability to work independently without supervision as well as part of a team Must be able to obtain a valid Passport and any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents as appropriate.Ability to work in a busy workshop and Offshore Environment
