Role Summary:
We’re hiring a detail-obsessed operator to own the end-to-end administration of California’s Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) for battery energy storage projects. You will manage SGIP submissions, documentation, program administrator communications, and post-install compliance through incentive payment. This role is critical to keeping our storage pipeline eligible, audit-ready, and moving quickly.

- Required overlap with U.S. Pacific Time (PT) for coordination with program administrators and internal U.S. teams (exact hours set with manager).

Key Responsibilities
SGIP Application Ownership (Pre-Install)
- Own SGIP application workflow from intake through reservation confirmation.
- Collect, QA, and package documentation (customer data, utility account info, site details, equipment documentation, signatures).
- Prepare and submit SGIP applications to the correct Program Administrator; ensure completeness to minimize resubmittals.
- Track step levels/caps, deadlines, waitlists, and required timelines to optimize submission strategy.
- Maintain a standardized SGIP “readiness checklist” per project and ensure each file is complete and consistent.
Cross-Functional Coordination (Design / Permitting / Interconnection / Install)
- Coordinate with Sales/Estimating to confirm SGIP assumptions reflected in proposals and project scopes.
- Work with engineering/PMs to ensure design choices support SGIP eligibility (equipment, metering approach, documentation alignment).
- Ensure SGIP documentation aligns with permitting/interconnection documentation (e.g., one-lines, equipment specs).
Post-Install Administration & Compliance
- Prepare and submit SGIP incentive claim/closeout packages and track through payment.
- Manage post-install program obligations and compliance tracking (documentation retention, operational requirements, ongoing reporting if applicable).
- Maintain audit-ready files: version control, correspondence logs, approvals, attachments, and milestone evidence.
- Respond to Program Administrator questions, deficiency notices, and correction requests quickly and accurately.
Reporting, Process Improvement & Knowledge Management
- Maintain a live SGIP pipeline tracker/dashboard (status, blockers, deadlines, expected incentive value, payment stage).
- Build and continuously improve SOPs, templates, QA checklists, and internal training materials.
- Monitor SGIP program updates and communicate changes internally; update workflows accordingly.
- Identify and flag risks early (missing docs, deadline exposure, eligibility issues, inconsistent data)
Qualifications (Required)
- 2+ years experience in program administration, incentives processing, documentation-heavy operations, or project coordination .
- Excellent written English and professional email communication.
- High attention to detail; strong track record managing multi-step workflows with strict deadlines.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel/Google Sheets): trackers, validation, status reporting, audit trails.
- Comfort working across time zones and coordinating with U.S.-based stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with SGIP or U.S. solar/storage incentive programs.
- Familiarity with solar + storage project workflows (permitting, utility coordination, commissioning documentation).
- Experience with tools like Monday.com, Airtable, Smartsheet, Salesforce, or similar.
- Experience creating SOPs, templates, and standardized operating workflows.
Tools & Systems (Typical)
- Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets), Slack/Teams
- Project management platform (e.g., Monday.com)

- Cycle time from intake → submission → reservation → claim → payment
- On-time milestone compliance and zero missed deadlines
- Clean, audit-ready documentation with consistent file structure
- Accurate pipeline reporting and proactive issue escalation
What We Offer
- Remote role with long-term growth in a rapidly scaling storage business
- Clear ownership and measurable impact
