About the role

Substance Espresso is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor / Cafe Manager to join our team in Runaway Bay. This full‑time role will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our busy cafe, ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of food and beverage quality.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and coordinating the work of cafe staff, including baristas and waitstaff.
• Liaising with our head chef to help supervise the kitchen staff.
• Working mainly in a host style role during the busiest periods but also including table service waitering during the quieter times.
• Ensuring efficient and smooth running of daily cafe operations.
• Maintaining high standards of food and beverage quality and presentation.
• Providing excellent customer service and managing customer queries and complaints.
