LOCATION: NEWPORT NEWS, VA or CHARLESTON, SC
Job Title: Shipyard Welder/Fitter
$45/hour & $140 in per diem
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform structural welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel components
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings
- Execute multi-pass welds in various positions with precision and consistency
- Operate welding equipment and tools safely and effectively
- Inspect welds for quality and compliance with specifications
- Collaborate with fitters, engineers, and supervisors to meet production goals
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in a non-climate-controlled facility
