Sign Language Interpreter in Chico, CA

Located in Chico, CA, this opportunity offers a full-time contract role interpreting in K-12 educational settings for the 2023-2024 school year.

The position involves facilitating communication between hard of hearing and deaf students, their hearing peers, teachers, and school staff. Responsibilities include providing sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting, assisting students with academic subjects such as reading, writing, and math, and supporting vocational and life skills development. Monitoring students during classroom, outdoor, or community activities is also part of the role. Candidates may express preference for elementary or intermediate school assignments.

Key qualifications and experience include:

• Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, or a score of 4.0 or above on the EIPA, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessments
