Sign Language Interpreter in Elgin, IL

An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support an elementary school student in a 1:1 capacity. The student is deaf and has an additional visual impairment, requiring an interpreter who can collaborate effectively with the educational team to enhance visual access and communication.

Key responsibilities include providing full-time interpreting services, modeling American Sign Language (ASL) to support the student's language development, and implementing strategies in partnership with educators to optimize the student's learning experience. This role requires sensitivity to the unique needs of a student newer to ASL and the ability to adapt techniques to promote understanding.
