Signal Support Technician

About the Role

This role is central to ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient first‑line maintenance of signalling equipment, protected level crossings and associated systems across the network. You will oversee and guide work teams, providing technical leadership, on‑the‑job training and support in fault finding, system diagnostics and root cause analysis. The position undertakes a wide range of technical tasks, including routine maintenance, system testing, functional commissioning, and the interpretation and amendment of technical drawings. You will also carry out measurements, assist with design requirements, install monitoring equipment, and lead investigations into complex or obscure signalling failures to enhance system integrity and performance.
