Site Electrical Engineer

• This is an 18 month contract role - 400MW Solar & BESS site, likely to extend.
• Based in Central West, Orana, NSW. Site based (not FIFO)
• International Renewables Developer & IPP with exciting/large projects

Your Company: 

A leading player in the Renewable Energy sector in the Australian market, specialising in development, construction, asset management and maintenance of renewable energy projects across the country. They have a growing portfolio comprising of solar & battery energy storage (BESS) across New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland

Your new role:

Reporting to the Head of Project Delivery, The Site Electrical Engineer is responsible for supervising and managing all electrical engineering activities on- site during the construction and commissioning phases of a 400MW Solar & BESS project. The role ensures compliance with design specifications, quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines, while coordinating with contractors, design engineers and Owner’s Engineers, and the contractor commissioning team to achieve successful project delivery. You will:

• Ensure all electrical works comply with local codes, regulations, and international standards
• Enforce site-specific safety procedures and monitor compliance to keep your team safe
• Coordinate the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including PV arrays, BESS, and grid interconnection
• Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and work closely with the design and engineering teams to find solutions
• Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including project managers, subcontractors, and design consultants

Who you are: 

You have site based electrial engineering experience with the construction & commissioning of transmission level utility scale solar farms, including the following:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of experience in site-based electrical engineering, preferably in renewable energy, power generation, or HV/MV transmission/distribution projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, cables, protection systems, BESS, and PV.
