We are seeking people who are technically savvy with electrical solar experience for a principal contractor/EPC. 5MW solar farms with BESS.

• Sydney with other locations considered - sites around NSW & Victoria
• Permanent positions with usual site benefits: housing, LAFHA, vehicle
• A small principal contractor with over a decade of experience

We are seeking people who are technically savvy with renewables, particularly solar & connections to the grid for a principal contractor/EPC. The projects are 5MW solar farms with BESS. Electrical experience preferred. 

Your new company
 
Is a small principal contractor & EPC involved in various construction sectors delivering Electrical Balance of Plant, Mechanical and civil capabilities for utility size solar farms and large >1MW roof top installations. They also have experience in substations across Zone, Kiosk, and Chamber subs, as well as Electric Vehicle charging stations for cars and buses. They have a successful Renewable Energy business building 5MW Solar/BESS plants and are looking for people to join the team.  
  
Your new position

As a Project Manager you are responsible for overseeing and coordinating the delivery of a project. You are also responsible for the allocation and management of resources as well as:

• Supporting construction budgeting by monitoring project expenditures, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
• Ensuring subcontractors and suppliers are engaged properly and that any procurement is done with the whole business in mind.
• Assisting with the definition of the project purpose and scope, calculating resources required, establishing standards and protocols while allocating resources.
• Assisting with scheduling and coordinating of staff and sub-contractors, evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions, resolving design problems, evaluating and implementing change orders and engaging with authorities when and where required.
• Ensuring the safety of all personnel onsite when carrying out work and that the right equipment for the project is available also administer and record risks on work sites.
• Source quotations and procure materials.
• Working closely with the Estimators, Engineers and other Construction Managers to ensure a coordinated approach to all works.

10/4 roster and housed in Airbnb or motel, motor vehicle, LAFHA and some work from home during set up period.

Who you are
 
You have solar construction experience with an electrical background, you are technically savvy with renewables, particularly utility scale solar & connections to the grid for a principal contractor/EPC. You understand contracting and the difference between working for a small business compared to a large one. Electrical experience preferred but civil and mechanical also considered.
