About Our Client
Our client is Australian owned and plays a major part in the road maintenance industry, heavily involved in various asphalt and paving works across South-East Queensland.They are currently seeking experienced Bobcat Operator/Labourers. Successful candidates will meet at the yard in Crestmead (QLD) and be responsible for working as part the Profiling and Asphalt crews across various projects.
Successful candidates will mainly complete day shift work however may have to occasionally work night shift. Respective rates are listed below;
Days = $44.14/hour with penalties
Nights = $64/hour with penalties
Overtime = $79.44/hour
What you will be doing
As a bobcat operator starting at 5AM and working 10-12 hour days, you will be working across various civil sites alongside other operators & truck drivers. You will be required to do the following;
- Sweeping paving bases prior to laying asphalt and other surfaces
- Sprinkling and brushing hot and cold-mix asphalt over surfaces to be paved and repaired to bond asphalt toppings to bases
- Shovelling asphalt mix into areas inaccessible to paving machines, and compacting mix using rakes and hand tampers
- Cutting and trimming damaged surfaces using jack-hammers and softening edges of areas to be repaired with blowtorches
- Loading and unloading equipment, and cleaning work sites
- Operating the bobcat, MTV and Shoulder Paver
- Operate the profiler (2m)
- Use attachments such as 4in1, Broom and Millhead (Millhead can be trained)
- Operate 3D level control
- Spreading asphalt by rake, broom and jackhammer
- Perform general maintenance
What you will need
- Bobcat ticket/licence (RII) is mandatory (other operating tickets are highly desirable)
- HR Drivers Licence
- Construction White Card
- Minimum 3 years experience working in asphalting
- Minimum 3 years experience operating bobcat in an asphalt or road construction setting
- Willingness to work overtime, night shifts, and away from home base to meet operational demands
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to pass an instant D&A prior to commencing
