Social Worker — Department: Child & Family Services — Status: Regular Full-time — Pay Grid: Social Worker ($80,371.20 – $91,673.40 per year) — Reporting to: Child & Family Services Manager

The Social Worker provides support services to Lil’wat families both on and off reserve. The focus of this position is: 1. Advocacy and support for families involved with child protection services and 2. Providing education programs and services to families. The emphasis with all our services is on keeping children with their parents. When this is not possible, we advocate for placements within the Lil’wat community and/or with extended family.

Responsibilities

• Advocacy: Provide advocacy and support for families involved with child protection services on and off reserve. Attend provincial court, mediations, and family group conferences as a designated Lil’wat Nation representative.
