Software Asset Manager

Position Description:

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Software Asset Manager to oversee the lifecycle of software assets across the organization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Software Asset Management (SAM) tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow SAM Pro, Snow Software, or equivalent platforms. This role ensures compliance, optimizes software usage, and supports strategic decision-making through effective license management.

Key Responsibilities:

. Manage end-to-end software asset lifecycle including procurement, deployment, usage tracking, and retirement.
. Administer and optimize SAM tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM Pro) to ensure accurate software inventory and license compliance.
. Collaborate with procurement, IT, legal, and finance teams to ensure alignment with software licensing agreements.
. Monitor software usage to identify opportunities for cost savings and license optimization.
. Conduct regular audits and compliance checks to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to vendor agreements.
. Maintain a centralized repository of software assets and licensing documentation.
. Provide regular reporting and dashboards on software usage, compliance status, and cost savings.
. Support software renewals, true-ups, and vendor negotiations with accurate data and insights.
. Assist in tool migration or integration projects as needed.


Required Qualifications:

. Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or related field.
. 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management.
. Proficiency in SAM tools such as Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM Pro, or equivalent.
. Strong understanding of software licensing models (e.g., SaaS, perpetual, subscription).
. Experience with ITIL processes and ITSM tools.
. Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.


Preferred Qualifications:

. ITIL Foundation certification.
. Flexera Certified Professional or equivalent certifications.
. Experience in managing software assets in large enterprise environments.
. Familiarity with cloud licensing (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).
