Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end software asset lifecycle — from acquisition and deployment to maintenance and retirement.
  • Maintain and update a centralized inventory of software assets through SAM and IT Asset Management (ITAM) tools (e.g., Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow, Manage Engine).
  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure and Operations teams to ensure accurate mapping of software installations across servers, devices, and users.
  • Integrate software asset data with the CMDB and IT service management platforms to support broader IT management and change processes.
  • Support IT Management in decision-making by providing data-driven insights into software usage, license compliance, and vendor performance.
  • Ensure software installations are aligned with IT security policies and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with IT Procurement and Finance to manage renewals, budget forecasts, and contract negotiations.
  • Contribute to IT governance by developing and enforcing policies for software usage, approval workflows, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Assist with software audits and provide reports to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate tools, processes, and policies to improve SAM and IT asset control maturity.
  • Able to perform troubleshooting at their end itself in case of any technical glinch observed at EU part regarding licenses.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Atleast 3-5 years of experience in Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or related IT operations roles.
  • Prior experience working in IT Services, Managed Services, or consulting environments is preferred.

Certifications (preferred):

  • Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), ITIL, or related certifications in ITAM or SAM.

Tools & Skills:

  • Proficiency in SAM/ITAM tools like Flexera, Snow, ServiceNow SAM Pro, or others. Knowledge of SNOW tool will be preferred.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing models and compliance requirements for vendors like Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, and Adobe.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes and integration with IT service management platforms.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills; experience with Excel and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Ability to collaborate across IT, finance, procurement, and audit teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
