Software/ Data Quality Engineer

We are looking for the best, highly skilled Software Data Engineer to join the team of our exceptional client for a fully remote opportunity. 

This position requires a mix of strong SQL expertise, data processing and ETL experience, and AWS cloud services knowledge to support the testing, validation, and delivery of high-quality data solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in an Agile environment and collaborate closely across engineering and data teams to ensure accuracy, performance, and reliability within data pipelines and systems.

What will your day look like? As a Software Data Engineer, you will:

• Design and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure data and system conformance to business and technical specifications

• Create and maintain test data and environments required for data validation and ETL testing

• Document and communicate test results, risks, and performance metrics in a clear and timely manner

• Drive continuous improvement in data quality assurance practices and processes

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and technical challenges across ETL and data warehouse systems

• Leverage strong SQL skills to analyze, validate, and optimize data workflows

• Utilize AWS services to support testing, data movement, and cloud-based data engineering activities

• Perform data quality, system integration, and ETL testing

• Collaborate with Agile teams and stakeholders using Jira and Confluence to manage workflows and documentation

• Work with tools such as Testrails and Python for data validation and automation support

• Apply knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Lake concepts, as well as Data Science platforms like Databricks

• Participate in project planning, time estimation, and progress tracking

You will be a good fit for the Software Data Engineer role if you have:

• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases

• Proven experience in data processing, ETL, or data warehouse environments

• Experience with AWS or other major cloud providers

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data integrity and performance

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence)

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in cross-functional environments

• Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and work independently when needed

Nice-to-Haves:

• Python development experience

• Experience with Databricks or other Data Science platforms

• Experience with test automation or Testrails

• Understanding of data lake architectures and cloud data design principles

• Certifications in Data Engineering, Software Testing, or related technologies
