Brief Description:
We are seeking motivated and skilled Cloud Engineers to join our Database Cloud Platform team. You will be designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and robust Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) solutions for Oracle’s Public Cloud (OCI) and hybrid/private cloud environments. This is an opportunity to innovate on mission-critical, world-class database services that enable digital transformation for customers across industry domains.
**Responsibilities**
Key Responsibilities:
+ Participate in the design, architecture, development, and delivery of features for Database Cloud Platform services.
+ Contribute to transformational projects that deliver scalable, extensible, and differentiated DBaaS offerings.
+ Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, Product Management, IT, and Operations teams to tightly integrate databases with OCI cloud platforms.
+ Develop and maintain service frameworks for hosting databases, provisioning, life-cycle management, and monitoring.
+ Ensure service features support large-scale, multi-tenant, secure, and highly available environments.
+ Address operational and security issues, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to both preventative and remedial solutions.
+ Adhere to software development best practices including unit testing, debugging, and documentation.
+ Stay updated on cloud, database, and security trends and integrate relevant learnings into product evolution.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
+ 5+ years of relevant experience in cloud development, preferably in IaaS or PaaS environments.
+ Experience developing with at least one of: Java or Python.
+ Working knowledge of REST APIs, cloud deployments, and virtualization technologies.
+ Experience in database management fundamentals and cloud DBaaS or similar offerings.
+ Familiarity with multi-tenancy, cloud security concepts, and service level availability.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving, debugging, and automation skills.
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with public cloud platforms, ideally OCI.
+ Exposure to microservices architectures and/or CICD pipelines.
+ Understanding of operating system or database internals.
+ Awareness of secure coding practices.
+ Exposure to encryption, key management, RBAC, and identity/access management.
+ Experience with AI/ML frameworks, data analytics, or applying AI techniques for cloud automation, anomaly detection, or intelligent monitoring.
+ Familiarity with AI-based tools for predictive analytics or security event detection.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
+ Agile development experience.
